I have spent a frantic couple of days stocking the studio with my new fantastic ranges for Halloween and Christmas.  Not only do we have seasonal pottery, we also have some very lovely Santa and his reindeer garland craft kits, Robin Redbreast Mosiac kits, and Christmas Character garland kits too.  My stock of the very addictive Hoooked zpaghetti Kits and yarn has also arrived and if you don’t get in quick I am going to have snapped them all up for Christmas presents!

I am currently also having great fun with my glass kiln working on some very lovely fused glass.  From Christmas themed coasters and tree hangers to these wonderful hearts and more.  It really is worth a trip to see all the things we have on show at the studio – I have some wonderful local ‘crafters’ who allow me to sell their wares from here too!

So what’s going on at the studio in the next couple of months?

Half Term Holiday Fun

The October half term is shaping up to be lots of fun here in the studio.  We will be open all week long and we have planned some fabulous workshops to keep your ‘crafty’ fingers busy.  On Tuesday we are running a clay workshop; come and get your hands on the stuff we use to make all our pots and see what you can create.  We couldn’t let Halloween escape the studio so on Wednesday you can come and paint pumpkins, skulls and scary cats using our special ‘paint & take’ paints allowing you to take them home and display them ready for all your ‘trick or treaters’!  Thursdays workshop is Decopatch; if you havent already had a go at this amazing craft come along and try it out.  If you’ve done it before and love it join us for another go!

For all you grown ups out there Thursday is also our adults craft evening; this week you can enjoy pottery painting, decopatch or turn your hand to making mosaic coasters.

October Half Term Opening Times:

Friday 26th: 12pm – 6pm

Saturday 27th: 10am – 4.30pm

Sunday 28th: 10.30am – 3.30pm

Monday 29th – Friday 2nd November: 10am – 4pm

Adults Craft Evening:  Thursday 1st November 7.30pm – 9.30pm

We also have our Christmas Club starting on the 25th October, which will be running every other Thursday until 20th December.  Each session we will be looking at a different craft and making gifts for family and friends (or yourself of course!).

The summer holidays have arrived and after finally organising my three kids calendar for the next six weeks I feel exhausted – we haven’t even done any of it yet!  Our first weekend has been spent in Blackpool for my daughters Cheer leading competition – and wow! I didn’t know she was capable of throwing such moves!  Their team won first place and we are extremely proud of her.

Come rain or shine Janili’s is now the perfect retreat for relaxation and craft, not only can you come and enjoy our fab coffee and cake whilst surfing the net with free wifi, watching the kids paint or stick, after they have finished as Janili customers you can make use of Bainland Country Park’s grounds and activity playground.

We have put together a calendar of workshops and courses to keep the kids organised over the holidays, from friendship bracelet making to a full 4 session course on making ‘fabulous felt’ pictures, beads, bags & more.  Full details and booking for all workshops & events are available on our website.

Well here at Janili Jo’s we have joined in the fun – the front of the studio is adorned with the beautiful Union Jack bunting made for the studio by www.jules-f.co.uk and I have been frantically painting my ‘Jubilee Collection’ ready for the Woodhall Spa Craft & Gift Fair that kicks off the villages celebrations.  The studio is going to be open throughout the festivities (closing a little earlier at 3pm on Sunday & Monday to allow me to join in my own villages festivities) to make sure you can all come and paint your own piece of history.

The fun doesn’t stop here once the Bank Holiday ends – we have workshops next week making macrame & beaded friendship bracelets and painting that special mug for Dad.

It has been a very interesting week here in the studio, we have had our very first Hen Party – and what a day that was.  Nine very lovely ladies arrived in the studio for a couple of hours painting and some lunch, with a wish to be away by 12.30pm.  They had so much fun and enjoyed their painting so much they left us at about 2pm.  I had all their creations fired an ready for their photographs and collection by 10am the next day – now that was the biggest 3D puzzle going to get it all in the kiln, but I did it.

Silver Memories

The other exciting development in the studio this week is that we are now going to be producing ‘Silver Keepsakes’.  We will now be able to take prints of your most cherished family members and immortalise them in silver.  A fabulous gift and treasured by everyone.  More information and details about the process can be found at www.janili.co.uk/silver-memories

I must now get glazing the fabulous creations produced by the school group that visited me yesterday.  I will attempt to be back sooner…………although I’m not promising anything. Have a marvelous Monday.

It’s continuing to be a very interesting time for the studio in our new home at Bainland Country Park, we now have a fabulous range of ‘Take Away” craft kits for you to get stuck into (some of them quite literally!).  Why not give Decopatch a try? you can choose from a variety of models and each kit contains, a selection of papers, our special glue/varnish mixture, instructions and the all important brush.  If getting sticky isn’t up your street we have mosaic, fridge magnet, traditional felting, knitting and garland kits available too.

We have also just published the workshop list for the summer term, you can join us for clay days, fathers day gift making, jewellery workshops, felt making plus many more.  We are kicking off the kids workshops this Sunday (May 12th) with a 3 week knitting workshop.  Children will all receive their own kit containing everything they need to complete 3 projects.  During each session they will be shown all the techniques needed to complete that weeks project, chance to share their own ideas and each session will include a ‘show & tell’ opportunity to showcase their results.

This coming weekend is going to be pretty amazing around and about the studio as the Park is home to the Harley Davidson Rally.  So if you are a bike fan pop along, we have ensured we will have a range of motorbikes, cars and plenty of other ‘Ready to Paint’ Pottery as well as our yummy homemade cakes and fresh coffee available for you too.

Don’t forget we are now open until 6pm on Fridays – just perfect for that after school treat!

We have changed our opening hours this week to try to make it more convenient for our local customers and Bainland Country Park customers alike. We are now open later on a Friday to allow for that after school treat and for the first time we are opening on Mondays, to help ease you into the week.
